About Jess
Hi, I’m Jessica!
And it’s so lovely to meet you. I’m a Whitstable-based hair and makeup artist, specialising in creative, modern, approachable beauty for stylish, elegant brides. I believe every bride should non-negotiably receive a top notch service that goes the extra mile, which is why I set up my bridal business - it’s my goal to make all of my brides comfortable in their own skin, then help to enhance that glow.
My Ethos
As soon as clients are sitting in my makeup chair, I pride myself on being able to put them at ease - a huge part of my job is making sure you’re relaxed and enjoying us working together. I take great care in getting to know you so that we can create something bespoke to match exactly what you had in mind. This goes from our first trial, where I’ll put together bespoke skin care plans for you, to creating a little makeup top up bag for when I wave you goodbye on the wedding day itself (and I’ll only leave at the very last minute, once I’ve made sure you look and feel amazing!)
My Training
I started out with a degree in Hair and Makeup for TV and Film, and do still work commercially too, having worked with industry-defining brands such as Toni & Guy, Illamasqua, and ITV. I still undertake regular training for new products and techniques, to make sure I’m giving my clients the very best in beauty.
Destination Weddings
I absolutely love to travel, and am so lucky that my work takes me all over the UK and Europe. I also specialise in destination wedding makeup, having worked in gorgeous venues across Spain, Italy, France and Greece, to name a few. Often I’m booked for full 3-day celebrations, including the pre-party and the day after revelry as well as the wedding day itself. It may be a cliche but beauty really is so much more than how you look, it’s how you feel too - which is why I always make sure my clients get the best experience possible when they invest in me.
More About Me
When I’m not working, I’m spending time with my husband Matt, who also works in the wedding industry (though as a photographer, not a makeup artist thankfully!) and our ginger cat Fergus (who doesn’t work in the wedding industry...yet). Living by the beach in Whitstable is something I will never take for granted - I love running, and also love the exceptional coffee shops we have down here. I also enjoy reading, upcycling and painting old furniture, and visiting exhibitions and museums for a creative fix.
If you want to see my work in action please head here, or for any other questions head here - I can’t wait to chat!
