Well guys this wedding is a feast for a dull and dreary autumnal afternoon! Amy’s vision for her wedding day was absolutely incredible, so sit back and cast your eyes over this gorgeous seaside wedding.

When Amy & I started the trial process and she was explaining her dress & flower choices, I new we had to create something equally as amazing with her hair to help complete the look she was going for.

Amy wore a 1940s vintage dress, lovingly restored and fitted to her, chosen from the amazing girls at Story Of My Dress. When we originally discussed potentially heading down the Hollywood wave route, I new it needed to be more of a vintage wave to fit in with Amy’s look for her wedding.

To create Amy’s perfect vintage wave I blow dried Bumble & Bumble’s invisible oil primer into the hair. Amy’s natural hair was quite dry so this primer helps give it that beautiful sleek & shiny finish, and by blow drying the product into the hair, smoothes out any natural waves and kinks in the hair.

I then started to tong the hair in tiny sections using my Marcell tong by Babyliss. I prepped the hair as I would any other hollywood wave but I made the sections smaller and used the 19mm tong to help create that tighter wave. The Length of Amy’s hair played a part of the decision making, the length will naturally drag any waves down so by producing a much tighter curl helped achieve a longer lasting wave.

As I was tonging each section I spritzed with Tigi Bed Head Masterpiece Hair Spray to lock in the curl.

Once all the hair had been set into place, we left it to cool for about an hour. After misting the hair with my Lee Stafford wax spray I brushed the curls out to form the wave using my tangle teaser. By misting the hair with the wax spray, it helps bond the wave together without the stickiness and heaviness of hair spray. After brushing out the curls I set the wave in place using setting clips for another hour.

Once Amy had had her make-up done by Nina at Nina Gregory Make-Up I removed the setting clips and we could see the wave had taken beautifully. I misted with my OSIS shine spray and a mist of Loreal Tecni Art hairspray. Once Amy was dressed I started to fit the Juliet Veil, the veil was absolutely beautiful, embroidered with the date of their wedding at the bottom and being a little different to your classic veil only added to Amys look.

The whole look was topped of with an amazing flower crown by Jane & Graham Greener, in coral and peach hues and the overall effect was absolutely epic!

BRIDESMAIDS

The bridesmaids opted for a slick bun to set off the velvet in the dress, Amy had chosen an amazing pearl head band from ASOS and had hand-made some pearl pins to scatter into the bun at the back.

I started buy blasting each hair with the hair dryer just to smooth out any fly away’s and then used Bumble & Bumble Grooming Cream to create the bun. I smoothed over the hair with my Loreal Tecni Art Pli to deal with any really tricky fly-away’s.
